Amp Pointer Knob
What should I do do make the most of my Solo-Baric 15" L7?
I have one 15" L7 in my '05 PT Cruiser, it's accompanied by a 2400 Watt Audiobahn amp. I've been using this set up for several months but I feel that I'm not getting the full potential of this awesome sub. I'm curious is there is anything that I could do to bring out some more power in my sub; anything concerning wiring, tuning the amp correctly and using it's settings, using the equalizer on my head unit, etc.
The current set-up won't pick up low tones hardly at all but the bass knob turns red when it hits, which I heard is a signal that the amp is clipping. Pointers please?
Upgrading my amp wouldn't make much sense.... but I was wondering if I could wire the sub for 2 ohms and then bridge the amp to the sub to give it 1200 watts... but with an RMS rating of 1000 watts on the sub, I don't know if that'd blow it.
simpe Change the AMP and you will unleash that beast...that audiobahn amp is underpowering it dont be fooled by the hyped up numbers they throw at you... thus making your sub sound like it is lacking so putting it on any CEA rated 1,000w RMS mono channel amp AND the proper box volume staying within the min and max volume as specified by kicker in the manual that came with the sub and you will not be disappointed. at this wattage 2 or Zero gauge wiring for the amp would be best and you also will need to upgrade ur alternator and battery to keep up with the amperage demand.
