Ampeg Rocket
how can i eliminate that "clanky" sound on my bass?
when ever im playing a fast tempo song on my bass i continuously hear this clanky sound of metal hitting together, i tried upping the bass and lowering the treble but that only made the sound muddier, the only way iv succesfully eliminating it is by using my russian big muff distortion pedal but i dont like using extensive amounts of distortion in every song i play, even my jazz band teacher asked me why it was doing that and i replied with simply "i have know idea" if anybody knows how to eliminate it please tell me
i have an ampeg rocket bass and my settings are
bass-8
hi/lo mids- 4
treble- 6-7
and the tone on my bass is at 5
your strings might be too close to the frets, so they hit the frets when you play the string. try rising the action. i dunno much about bass but on guitar you can lift the strings higher or lower.
