Home theater signal to car amp?

How can I get a music signal to a car amp can I hook up to any of the channels for the speakers or just the subwoofer channel, I am hooking up a car amp for my new subwoofer and the home theater has no rca line out only inputs, I just need the signal for the amp?

That's not going to work. You need a home theater system with a subwoofer-out. And also, the wiring that will have to go into making a car amp work on a home system will be rediculous. You would have to convert the signal from RCA to 12 volt remote lead with some sort of relay/converter. And youd also have to convert your homes a/c power to d/c power to give power to the amplifier. A converter that strong will probably cost you more than your amp costed. So best bet is to go buy a powered subwoofer. I bought mine (10 inch RCA brand) for less than 100 bucks and it has 150 watts rms. Trust me this thing shakes the whole house. And if you dont have subwoofer out puts then youll have to buy a reciever that has that. If you try to invent the wheel its going to take you an awful lot of time and when you finally figure it out youre going to realize that it costs more money and not to mention that time costs money.
