Chrome Guitar Jack
GUITAR COST QUESTION?
Okay. Jack has an 91' Ibanez RG(760?) series- heather pearl in color that he got from his father. How much would did his guitar go for when it was made? He says $3000... Yea right.
Jim has a Jackson Dinky DK2-FS amber orange in color. He bought his used for $250 but found it new for about $700. Is this correct?
Lastly, in your opinion, which guitar is better. Both guitars have a Floyd Rose tremolo but the Jackson is chrome and the Ibanez is black. Jack prefers rock whereas Jim prefers metal. Please and thank you
A '91 RG760 might have cost $300 but if Jack paid $3000 for it he got ripped off. But I did see a used '92 RG760 for sale for $500. I think they were better quality back in the day. New RG760's though are around $450 today though, so I can't imagine them being $3000 back then.
The Jackson is about $700-$750 new, so getting one used for $250 is a good deal. Jim is definitely a better shopper than Jack.
As for which guitar is better, I'd give the edge to the Jackson. I'm really not a big Jackson fan but I think that particular guitar is better than the Ibanez RG760. Compare it to a comparably priced Ibanez RG870Z though ($750) and I'd take the Ibanez over the Jackson.
Actually, I changed my mind, I'd probably take the Ibanez RG760 over the Jackson too.
