Dual Reverb
Connecting my P.A. system (Sound Reinforcement), I need some help....?
This is my system
Furman Power supply
32 Channel Behringer Mixer
Alesis Reverb
(2) DBX EQ'S (one for mains and one for band monitors)
1 DBX compressor
1 Rane Crossover
(1)Behringer 2400 amp (Monitors)
(2) Crown XTI 4000 amps (Mids/Highs)
(1) QSC EX4000 (Subs)
(4) JBL Jrx 125 mains
(2) JBL Mrx 518 dual subs
(4) Yamaha Monitors
As you can see its a intermediate setup, the problem I've been having is cabling it together the rack system, I bought about 20 Patch cables (Low-z) they are different colors so that I can tell each connection apart, but when I try everything together im getting no signal or sometimes very low volume. Would I need Hi-z's for my application? Also can someone please tell me the best way to set up my rack gear (order, tips, etc.)
Put the reverb on aux 3 or 4. go out of the mixer to the eq, then crossover and then to the amps. Put the compressor where you need it and use an insert cable from an insert plug to the compressor. It will have a TRS or tip ring sleeve to two TS cables. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Horizon-HYSP-14-Inch-Insert-Cable?sku=336120 It is a send and return in one cable.
You should not use two jrx 125s next to each other, you get what is called comb filtering. You will never get a smooth sound with a lot of comb filtering. You should stack one on top of the other and put the one on top upside down. It will sound like one speaker but it will add up to 3 db and carry almost twice as far. you will need to tie them down.
