Guitar Volume Tone
What are the best potentiometers to use for a guitar volume and tone?
I'm doing a few modifications to my guitar such as coil tapping and adding an extra tone pot.
While I am doing this I want to change out my current volume pot and tone pot.
I'm doing this to an Ibanez rg with stock pups by the way.
I want to change my volume to one that does good swells and has good control and can clean up a sound well, unlike mine that currently will go to no volume to 3/4 of the overall volume with 1/8 of a turn.
So what should I change this out with? Linear? Log?
I also want to change my tone know because it doesn't get much versatility to it.
What should I swap it out with? And should this be log, linear, or whatever else there is?
Also, I am thinking of changing the capacitor for the tone, currently it has a .22 mylar stock cap. But I just want to swap it with something better.
Also, if you have any suggestions that well help me out please tell me.

Measure your existing pots with a DVM to see what value they are. Chances will be they'll be either 250KΩ or 500KΩ. I've bought several pickups (Gibson, DiMarzio) and the wiring diagrams that come with them recommend a linear pot for the volume and a log pot for the tone control. A 0.22μF is quite high for a tone control cap. Usually values tend to be between 0.01μF and 0.05μF although it's easy to experiment with different values. As for capacitor construction I'd go for polyester, they're a bit bigger but better for audio.
