how to remove a lock cylinder from old mortise lock?
This old (antique) mortise lock has the push buttons on the door jam. Usually there are set screws to remove to get the cylinder out but this lock has NO visible set screws like all the others I have seen. I need to get the cylinder out to re-key it. There is a cylinder on the door front with a handle below it with a thumb lever attached. on the inside there is a antique thumb turn and a knob below.
Sounds like a Baldwin lock.
Remove the end/scalp plate & your set screw should be there, below the top screw hole for the end plate.
