which one is better for a classic nylon string guitar?which one can you plug into computer?do any require making holes or any modifications to your guitar?thanx
I've used the Pro Mag and it works nicely, providing a pretty warm tone. I've also heard great things about the transducer. No holes required on either one, though because of my experience with the Pro Mag I recommend it. It just sticks into the soundhole of your guitar.
Due to the fact that both of those pickups use 1/4" plugs, either way, you're going to need an interface in order to connect your guitar to the computer. USB/Firewire Mixer, one of those Line 6 guitar inputs, etc. would do the trick.
If you don't care too much about the quality going in (if you aren't doing any serious recording), then you could also just put it through a preamp and stick a 1/4" to 1/8" plug converter to the cable to plug into your computer's microphone input. I did that with one of my interfaces and it works well enough for jotting down ideas and whatnot.
