Pickup Coil Winding

Pickup Coil Winding

Guitar wiring knowledge?

I'm building a guitar with 3 Burns Tri-Sonic pickups (these are single-coils). Can someone explain how to wire these "RWRP" or "Reverse Wind/Reverse Polarity? I want to be able to choose "in" or "out" phases with these pickups. How can I do this?

I'm using buttons as opposed to a toggle switch for pickup control. 6 buttons total - 3 will correspond to the activation of each pickup, and 3 will correspond to whether the pickup is "in" or "out" of phase. How difficult will this be?

You just need to wire a switch so that one of the toggles is the normal set up, and then the other reverses the connection. its as simple as using a 2 way switch (or button, in your case), soldering one wire to the center, and wiring the other wire to both of the outside connections. then you just run your output from the center, and to both the outside connectors, so that when the switch is one way, current flows through one direction, and the other way it flows through in the opposite direction. i think that should work anyway...

maybe that wont work perfectly tho... i just kinda have a mental picture so its not like im drawing this up :p
the only problems you may have include: the switch doing nothing, or the pickup being shorted and therefore giving no signal.
