Should i get this guitar?

This is going to be my first guitar and i'm not sure if its a good one because it came out pretty recently and there are not many reviews about it. It has an on board tuner and it's thin so that's what drew me to it. It says stuff about a preamp, Piezo Pickup, 2-Band EQ in the specs. Can someone tell me more about that cuz i'm not sure how that stuff works. Do i need an amp? It seems like a really good deal considering its only $250. What do you think?

It's an excellent choice! Ibanez guitars are fantastic for beginners, females and players with small hands because they have thinner necks and lower action (strings closer to the fretboard) than most acoustics, which makes it easier to form chords and move smoothly between them. I'm female and have small hands and I absolutely love Ibanez guitars. They're built like rocks, sound fantastic, and they're often nicer than guitars costing twice as much.

The guitar in your link has a shape that will make it more comortable than a dreadnought (full-size) to play while you're sitting down. The onboard tuner is an excellent feature, too. It has a solid spruce top, as well, which is the most important factor in sound quality. Many guitars have laminated wood tops, which are basically scraps of wood glued together and then topped with a layer of veneer so they'll look nice. But the glue absorbs sound, rather than deflects it, so solid-top guitars are much nicer than laminate-top ones.

Ibanez has a great track record and even the company's entry-level instruments are much nicer than comparably priced ones from other manufacturers. I bought a second-hand Ibanez bass more than 25 years ago figuring I'd use it to learn, then upgrade to a Fender jazz bass. I eventually did get the jazz bass, but the cheap old Ibanez is still my favorite for both live shows and studio work because it's much more user-friendly and sounds punchier than any other bass I've owned. Five years into my bass playing, I bought my first Ibanez electric guitar and that hasn't given me a moment of trouble in more than 20 years. I've since bought two Ibanez acoustics and an acoustic-electric and every one of them has been as reliable and good-sounding as the bass that got it all started for me.

Ibanez guitars give you great bang for the buck. You get more features for your money without sacrificing quality. Even though there aren't many reviews of that particular model yet, it may help you to see how other Ibanez players rank their acoustic-electrics.
