What Paul Reed Smith should I get?
I currently have a 50th anniversary Olympic White American Stratocaster, and my baby, Gibson Custom Shop Johnny A w/Bigsby. But I have recently heard a lot of good things about PRS guitars but have been skeptical. Can anyone give me a suggestion of a good PRS guitar, money not an issue, but dont give me any 57 reissue or anniversary guitars those are just licenses to steal.
I don't know man. I just bought a PRS McCarty Gold Top on impulse about 2 weeks ago. I've already traded it. It is a good quality guitar but the more I played it the less I liked the tone. I just like something with a little more bite, sounded too mellow and jazzy for my taste. I traded it for a custom hand made guitar by a fellow in North Carolina named John Widman. No kidding, this Widman is the best playing and sounding guitar I have ever owned or played. I am looking to sell my Custom Shop 1960 VOS Les Paul now to buy another Widman. I cannot recommend these enough. Man that Johnny A is an awesome guitar!!! My advice, skip the PRS and pick up a Gigmaster Deluxe.
