Quad Opamp
Opamp wiring?
I need some help wiring up an quad-op IC. I'm new to circuity wiring. How do you wire the negative voltage for the op-amp. I currently have a dc voltage going to a 12 voltage regulator for the +12, but how would i get the -12v.
You need a dual power supply that may have tracking function on it with at least 24-30 Volts capability. TURN OFF THE POWER SUPPLY! The dual channels should have two pairs of positive and negative terminals. Take Channel one's negative terminal and short it (wire it directly) to the Channel two's positive terminal. Switch the supply to tracking, if you have it. You have now effectively made a three terminal supply. The negative of Channel two is now the negative voltage supply. The center two shorted terminal is now ground. Channel one's positive terminal is now your positive side. Now make sure you connect two multimeters from ground to the supply terminals and find tune the voltages to positive and negative 12V. (if you had the tracking, both terminals should increase at the same time) If you didn't have tracking change the supply individually until desired voltage has been reached.
Happy Circuit building!
