What about the Boogie? Mesa/Boogie that is ...?
I was thinking of getting a "Mesa Dual Rectifier-Roadster" as my next amp... I've heard that the road-king and dual-rectifier are good amps, but nothing about this one, except the hefty price tag.
Is it worth it?

The price would be a great help too bcuz i have to work with a budget...
Well, ya get what you pay for. Personally, i don't know much about any of the newer Mesa stuff, but i can attest to their reputation for good tone. A few years ago in another band i was in, the other guitarist had one of those heads that had a half / full power switch and a 5 band (i think) graphic EQ on the front, 3 channels i believe. I came home from a gig and had all the gear in the garage in my cargo trailer, so i was curious and dragged that sucker out and brought it in and ran it into a 2 12 cab to try it out. Man was i impressed! The tones i was getting outta this thing were great! The clean channel had full on clear tone with balls (plenty of headroom) with no breakup. The other guitar player didn't even know how to fully utilize this baby, just him using clean and second stage bluesy tone. But when i ran the 3rd stage, wow! a very ballsy all out very pleasing rock / metal tone that responded to every picking nuance i could throw at it, gets the best out of any good guitar, i didn't even bother with any pedals or anything...it was just THAT good. If my response is any indication of Mesa's overall products and their performance, i'd say go for it!
