Stratocaster Pickup Screws
Can Somebody Help me With My Squier Stratocaster Bridge Pickup?
Okay heres the problem. I was trying to adjust the bridge pickup but i accidentally took off the screw and put it back in. But now the right side of the pickup is loose and it doesn't seem to get tightened like the left side............Can somebody help me i am just a beginner and don't know how to adjust the pickup.
Hi there! What has happened is that when you removed the screw, the short piece of surgical tubing fell down into the body cavity. The tubing provides a coil-spring effect (earlier models actually did use a metal spring) to keep the pickups stationary after height adjustment. Even if you are able to reattach the screw, you will not have the resistance between the bottom of the pickguard and the top of the pickup mount to hold the pickup taut. Unfortunately, you need to remove the pickguard assembly, reattach the screw and tubing to the pickup, and reassemble. The whole process is not difficult, just time consuming!
